1 killed, 3 injured in nearby DTLA shootings, police say

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are investigating two separate shootings that left a man dead and three people injured in downtown Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department says officers responded to shooting near 5th and Crocker streets just after 11 p.m. Thursday.

A man believed to be in his 40s or 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. So far, no arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, another shooting in the same area left three people hurt.

Just after 7 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of 6th and San Pedro streets, police say a suspect walked up to the victims and fired multiple shots. All three of them were taken to hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene.

Investigators are looking into whether the two shootings could be connected.
